Upcycling Sublimation Mistakes
Hey Guys! Stefanie with Steffy Jewels, the spot for crafters, jewelry makers and the Do-It-Yourselfers and boy do I have a hot mess to share with you!
I'm very, very new to the sublimation world and just like any new craft, mistakes are bound to happen. So when attempting to sublimate my second and third tumblers, lets just say it didn't turn out the way I wanted. As you can see from the pictures, the color is all wrong on one of them and my sublimation paper was stuck on both cups. Of course I watch all the YouTube videos and how they mentioned to check your color profile (which I forgot to change it on my printer I converted) and then to peel your sublimation paper off while it's hot to make it easier. Well on the fist image, I peel it warm (paper was stuck on) and on the second tumbler, I peel it while it was still pretty hot using my heat resistant gloves and you guess it, the paper is still stuck on.
Now if you're saying to yourself, "your second & third tumbler, what about your first one", let me show you .

I just used my logo and some scrapbook paper that mimics my brand colors. Once printed on sublimation paper and pressed onto the mug using my tumbler press, voila...My first tumbler.
Now onto the reason why I said earlier in this post, a hot mess. Check out the YouTube video link below as I attempted to upcycle these two into something completely new and well....lets just say...A Hot Mess!
