Mokume Gane

Dear Polymer Clay-

Today is April 30, 2021 so you know what tomorrow is? It's gonna be MAY!

Yep that's right, today is the last day in April and I decided to try something a little different. Since I'm not to savvy with polymer clay and all the cool things you can do with it, I wanted to document this journey either by pictures, videos, or images. I searched YouTube and decided to follow along with some of my favorite polymer clay artists as well as techniques or projects that's out there. So today, the technique/project I will be working on is called Mokume Gane. The Youtuber (or channel) that I saw was from Blick Art Materials and they were showing this technique in different variations. Since I have plenty of clay (whether it be scraps, half open packages or a completely new block), a glass of red wine and some focus flow music in the background, its time to get to work. See below what I've accomplished thus far. Until we talk again...

Dear Polymer Clay-

Well as you can see from my pictures below, my mokume gane technique doesn't look like much. That's ok, as the saying goes, practice makes perfect. Before I move on to any other techniques, I will perfect this one first. These scraps can be used for something else as they say, all scraps are good scraps. I will post pictures of my progress until it I get it just right. For now, I bid you good day.
